Robert P Ricci's Publications

My first publication was "Active Protocols for Agile Censor-Resistant Networks". It was published in the proceedings of the Eighth IEEE Workshop on Hot Topics in Operating Systems. You can find the abstract, as well as full copies of the paper, here.

My Honors Bachelor's Thesis, "Agile Protocols: an Application of Active Networking to Censor-Resistant Publishing Networks" is an extension of my work on the first paper. Abstract and full copies are here.

I was one of many authors on the paper about Flux's network testbed, An Integrated Experimental Environment for Distributed Systems and Networks , which appeared at OSDI 2002.

I worked on a paper about one of the testbed's key components, Frisbee, which is a multicast disk imager that is much faster than the currently-available commercial products such as Symmantec Ghost. The paper, Fast, Scalable Disk Imaging with Frisbee. Though I was pretty far down in the author list, I ended up being the one to give the talk at USENIX 2003.

Though I was not the original author of the program, I ended up writing a paper about the resource mapper used on the testbed. The paper, A Solver for the Network Testbed Mapping Problem, appeared in SIGCOMM CCR.

I did on the resource allocation portion "Integrated Network Experimentation Using Simulation with Emulation", which appeared at TridentComm 2005. - Robert Ricci
